The Code factory MSP software is making great strides in making the
simbian phones accessible. Personally I am with AT&T though I manage a
Verizon based set of cell phones here at work for our staff. Business
service is great but I am not as impressed with accessibility. In any
case the phone and access software will be a bit expensive though AT&T
is offering the MSP software bundled with some of their phones at a
great price under $90 however be careful to get a phone that is
currently in production. Check www.codefactory.es or perhaps it is
codefactory.cat for more info. 73's Brett....

Subject: blind accessible cell phones

Hi, everyone.

I know this has been discussed before on the list, but, at the time, I
guess I wasn't seriously interested. ... Now, since I'm increasingly
playing a role in various aspects of emergency management both at my
University and for my local ARES/RACES group, I am starting to think
seriously of acquiring a cell phone.

What recommendations do you folks have for blind accessible cell phones?

Right now, my XYL has a Sprint phone, but we have not been very
satisfied with Sprint coverage in our area.

Her plan ends in June of this year, and we'll probably make a switch of
some sort. As we prepare to do this, I'd like an idea as to which
carriers and phones seem the most blind friendly.

If you want to e-mail me off list, please use:

Thanks!
