Hi Shaun,
You can get an audio device called a comparator and have it put across the 
meter.  The high tones will show the peaks and the low tones will show the 
dips.  Most people can tune as fast or faster using a tone comparator.  I 
think it took me about four seconds.  I had a Kenwood TS 520.  I hope this
