I don't know of any easy to program by computer but I've always had radio 
shack and uniden scanners and all have been easy to program from the front 
panel. I see radio shack is getting out of it though, they only have 1 that 
doesn't say discontinued. That's probably on it's way out too, I have that 
particular one though and it's a good one.
