I was told not to, I hear people do it,  but me personally, I was told not
to and I don't hear it very often on repeaters. Once in a while I do but not
very often so I would say it doesn't matter, but it isn't usually done, not
around here anyway and I can hit almost any repeater in MA, NH, RI, CT, and
even out to ME and NY on nights with good conditions and it's all the same.
