I don't think anybody has tried to build a capacitor that is variable in a 
hundred years or so. Shop on the net, or look at a ham fest, if they have 
them down there.
That shouldn't be hard to find on the net.  First, decide how much power it 
needs to handle.
A used tuner might make the project a lot easier.
