I spoke to tentec twice in the past five or so years. Both times when they
were supposedly seeking user input for the design of the 516 and 526 radios.
These are the argonaut V, and 6&2 respectively.
I asked about either speech or cw feedback for these rigs, and the
provision of appropriate beeps, like the kenwoods, to indicate control status.
THeir answer was:

No, the radios do not have these features, and we have no plans to add them.
THis is not a direct quote, but very close. I sent back an answer that
said basically,

thank you very much for your answer. I currently do not own a tentec rig,
and, given your answer, have no plans to purchase one.

It is unfortunate that one of the last american manufacturers has chosen to
take this attitude and drive potential purchasers away.
This is especially disheartening because both these radios are mostly
software defined, and at least cw and beeps could easily be done without
adding hardware.

Currently the most accessible hf rigs out there are the kx1 and k2 from
elecraft. Both use cw for the feedback mechanism, and enunciate about 95
percent of everything on any screen.

Hope this helps.
