Be careful of subbing parts Jim!! Years ago a friend and I who were
in to old A M gear found a problem in a Johnson viking Valliant of
mine. Involved the low voltage rectifier tube. It had taken out a
cap. or resistor, I forget which. So for some reason, I think to
verify that the tube was defective, we plugged it in to my Johnson
Ranger. It was defective and took out the same part in the
Ranger. Afterward we decided, that we weere both reasonable smart
and competent and why in hell had we done such a stupid thing!! Made
us laugh a lot and think very hard about verifying our theories everafter!!
