Especially given the moist Michigan climate, I really do need to seal those 
outside connectors somehow.

It's amazing how moisture will get into places that you can't imagine would 
be possible.

Recently, I used, for each coax, a 14-inch bulkhead connector inserted into
a hole in the outer wall of my basement.  Patch cables run from the inside
of the bulkheads to the radios.  On the outside it's just coax connectors
screwed onto the bulkheads.  Still want to hang some kind of flap over the
connectors on the outside to keep rain and snow off of 'em.
