I don't know if this will work or not, but try turning the rig off, and then
push the "3" key while turning the rig back on again.  I got my THF6A into a
weird visual display mode once, and had the same problem you are having, and
this fixed it.

I have no clue as to why this happens, but it seems to be a quirk with the
radio sometimes.

Let me know if this works.

If it doesn't work, you may need to do a VFO re-set, which we can help you
with here.
