Well, I don't run that anymore, I use RG-213, but I fold the braid back and
get it under the reducer when I do use that with just a tiny bit showing out
the inside of the reducer, so you can't notice it when the reducer is in the
pl-259 connector, and I just dab solder at that end there the braid sticks
through, then strip the center conductor and make is so it just is
detectable through the hole in the center pin of the PL-259, then I manage
to get that all nice and neat, but I usually use RG-213 although that's
pretty much the same, I fold the braid back so it's a little bit over the
outer shield so when I screw the PL-259 on it will bite in to the braid and
then I'll put solder through the holes. that's the only pain is getting the
solder in the holes but with practice, I've gotten pretty good at it.
