I spoke to Peter at the H.R.O. New Hampshire store this morning
about both rigs listed in the subject line.

He said that the Icom rig is just a bit smaller, but one thing I
don't like about the lineup of the keypad is that the star, 0,
pound keys are vertical rather than horizontal like they would be
on a telephone keypad. So going across, the lineup would be:
1, 2, 3, Star.
4, 5, 6, 0;
and 7, 8, 9, pound.

Also, the Icom is not capable of duel band monitoring but that
isn't a big thing with me as I never use that feature.

Peter did say that they do have the 790 in stock; so it is
available for purchase.

The Icom is also quite a bit cheaper than the T.H.F.6.-A., but I
would probably go with the kenwood rig if I order one.

One question I have for those of you who have the T.H.F.6.-A: does
the carrying case allow access to the keypad or does it have a
clear plastic shield that covers the keypad such that you have to
look at the keys to find the one you want? 73.
