I never used a separate tuner.

You'll need a high power tuner anyway, you don't put 1500 watts through a
200 watt tuner unless you like damage. With either one you'd need a high
powered tuner and any tuner that will work on one should work on the other
as long as the power ratings are good and it can handle it.
