Hi Shirley;

I purchased all my accessories from H R O in Delaware.

The case does not cover up the buttons. Their are cut outs for all the
buttons.

However, you need to remove the belt clip. But the belt clip does not
disipate a lot of heat. The majority of the heat is vented through the top
of the radio were the s M A connector is located.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
