Ron,
One more thought. If you plan on using the auto band switching feature
of the ALS-1306, you should probably use the USB connection to the
radio for the logging software. This will free up the serial
connection on the radio for connection to the amp for band data.
Since the serial and usb connections on the radio are independent of
each other, I'm sure this will work, but not having that amp, I can't
swear to it from real world experience but that's how I would do it.
Of course, the amp connection will need the optional cable from
Ameritron which has amp connection at one end, andserial/7pin din
connectors at the radio end.
