No, you don't have to change bands. I think the pro has 2 antenna hookups as 
apposed to just 1 for the at-1000, for the at-1000 there was no interface at 
all for it, I'm not sure what else is different because they made so many 
upgrades to the 1000 to make it like the pro that aren't mentioned in the 
manual.
