Hi, all.

In case anyone's interested, I had another friend over here this morning,
and he got the troublesome cover screw out of the TMV71A without a hitch.
He used Butch's left-handed drill bit suggestion, and the technique worked
flawlessly.

We have put a slotted brass jewelry screw in the place of the old screw,
until I can get a replacement.

Now, I'm going to write to Kenwood and ask if they'll send me a couple of
replacement screws, should the problem happen again in the future.

On another note, this newer TMV71A does indeed have menu 111, so it must
have been upgraded with the new firmware.

Thanks to all on the list for your help and sympathies as I tackled this
very minor, but still un-nerving problem.
