Hi John,

Well, the only thing that speaks per se is the frequency on either band.
However, it emits a high beep for the 440 band.

On the back of the mike, however, there are twenty buttons which control all
the functions of the rig. Most of the 16 buttons a-d and 1-0 plus * and #
also have a dual function which is initiated by hitting the function key
first. I'd almost bet the functions would be similar. You might hit
Iceom's website to see if they have the manual available. Anyway, here are
the functions on the IC-2700H:

I'll list the key, its function, then in parenthesis the function of
that same key when preceeded by pressing the Func key.

1: Call up a call channel; (AFC on)

2: Select memory mode; (AFC off)

3: Select VFO Mode (turns one-touch PTT on/off)

4: Select high power (Turn pager unit on)

5: Select Medium Power; (turns code squelch function on)

6: Select low power; (Turns DTMF Memory function on)

7: minus offset; (turns subaudible tone encoder PL on).

8: Plus offset; (turns optional pocket beep function on).

9: Simplex; (Turns optional tone squelch function on).

0: Mutes both band's audio signals; (Starts a priority Watch)

Star: opens and closes current band's squelch; (starts scanning; OR starts
tone scan when using optional tone squelch).

#: Selects one of four preset squelch levels; (locks all keys on microphone
keyboard)

A: Clears a digit before entry, OR, Cancels a scan, priority watch, pager,
code squelch, or DTMF memory function. (Writes the VFO frequency into call
channel or memory channel; also, advances the memory channel number when
continuously pushed after programming).

B: Enters set mode menu and advances the set mode selection order. (Turns
the pager, code squelch, DTMF memory function, or remote function off).

C: Speech button; or, reverses the Set Mode order when in the Menu mode.
(Turns subaudible tone encoder, pocket beep, or tone squelch functions off).

D: Sets keyboard for numeric input. (Enters demonstration mode).

Hope that might be of help, John.

Steve
