When we did it, we did it in two-people teams.  I sat in the passenger seat 
and spun the antenna checking signal strength on an audible meter and told 
my driver where to go.  When we got in close, my driver would sometimes get 
out and use handheld gear to find it.  Depending on conditions, I would 
sometimes go with her.
