Hi Steve and list;
It must be the heat but some of the info here leaves me wondering too.  When 
looking at this companies site they make a rather interesting variety of 
verticals with tilt mounts etc.  When trying to get some idea as to band 
width the only thing I have been able to get from them is that "these are 
random length verticals and a tuner is required.  I suspected a tuner would 
be needed to keep the finals happy and broaden the amount of band width over 
which you can use the antenna.  There is apparently no swr curve that I am 
familiar with on many other antennas.
I suspect this tuner is not up to the task.
The prices are very competitive and the casual reader would be lead to 
believe they are sturdy which is a good thing.

I've never used his stuff, but I've  heard good things about zerofive
antennas.   He has a couple of tilt bases and some (maybe all)  of his
antennas come with  tilt bases.  All his stuff seems super strong and
perhaps is more than you want to spend.    His multiband verticals require a
tuner and that may be a non starter for you as well, but I don't think  it
will bend as fast as the Cushcraft did.
