John,
I'm not sure what this scanner is like regarding other models.  I am 
patient and will sort it out by and by!  I have the manual downloaded 
and noticed that it will save data for an hour without power, so 
whatever was stored is history since it sat overnight powerless!  So 
once I can get the hang of it, I'll fill it up again and be done with it!
Sure shouldn't be this complicated, though.
