Hi Howard,
None of my computers do that in outlook express, so this is just a guess. 
Make sure that your in box is set to open on startup.  When you have a 
message opened, make sure that the views pain is unchecked under 
view/layout.

Has anybody noticed that when you open a message in Outlook express, that
you have to tab once to get the message window?  Any solutions?  Found this
since I did the update.  It came as a part of automatic updates from windows
update.
