Oh yes; those AM days were magic!

Even after I got the TR-4, I used to fire it up on AM and work guys; it
was one of the few transceivers with a real diode AM detector in the
receiver.  And the AM modulation actually sounded quite good; it wasn't
done like the Swan 350 where one decreased output and injected carrier.
