I didn't buy the FT950 because it has any speech feedback in it. It
doesn't. The FT450 has some speech feedback, althought not nearly as much
as the 480.

I was looking for a higher-performance radio (I hope), and will deal with
accessibility problems as they come up. The 950 has lots of controls, but
still has some 118 different menu items that can be set. There are many
ways to make mistakes, and I plan to use computer software to read the
display and figure out what I did wrong. If you want accessibility and
reasonable performance, you need to get a TS480. I'm just doing things the
hard way in the hope of additional flexibility.
