First go to memory #1 so you'll know where you are.  Then go to the vfo and
make sure it is set the way you want.  Then press "F" (Function) and the
memory will be blinking on channel #1.  Use the tuning dial or mike "up" key
to go up to the memory you want.  Once there, press the "memory" [Mem] key.

I tried programming my radio without the computer and really screwed it
up.  Could someone give me procedure sto program what I have in the vfo
into memory?  When I tried what I shought should work, it dumped it in
memory 2 which isn't where I wanted.  How do you select an empty memory to
write to?
