I think that it is the 394.  As for the Fisher unit it doesn't do
sideband, but I don't know if there are any tricks.  As for CW it isn't
really too bad ehen you consider the hetrodine whistle is there with the
CW signals, at least that has been my experience.  It  also has fine
tuning and LED indicators for recording and reception, but I don't know if
you can see light or not, so that may not be helpfull for
you.  Personally, I have liked this model and other then overloading in my
area, detroit, Michiganiit makes a goodDX rig or spare shrrt-wave radio.
