Hi Gery!

It won't happen quite like you think, but there are some nice things on the
horizon now, anyway.

We gotta get beyond the notion that as long as something talks to us, we'll
be as informed as we need to be. The projects that I'm aware of have managed
to avoid the speech infection, so I'm hopeful.

73,
Dave

The thought is all good but I think we all know that it won't ever happen. =
Not trying to be negative. I see inequality and things that aren't access=
ible daily. One thing is the cost of braille equipment and software for th=
e blind. Who can really afford it and companies know that. They charge hi=
gh prices and rehab has to buy for the most part because the individual per=
son cannot afford it. I understand the high cost of development and manufa=
cturing but as long as we can't afford to pay the prices state governments =
will so things won't ever change. Maybe eventually it might get a bit bett=
er. I know here in Louisiana, most requests for blindness equipment and tr=
aining for use of adaptive equipment are being turned down. Our state gove=
rnment is in the can. Largely based on the prices of oil, revenue is at an=
all time low. When gas prices are high our economy here in state is good.
