You know, I bet you that's what I did to get the error beeps on 446.850, now
that I think about it.  I know it seems weird, but I really like those error
beeps to be there, so I am prevented from accidentally transmitting on the
receive freq for the link system.  I will go ahead and put the vfo in the
"plus" setting.

And, no, you are not missing something:  446.850 is within the 440 band
limits, since the band goes up to 450.
