Solar flux is down to 95, and has been low for several days. This means we
have longer skip or lower MUF than we have had on this date for probably 4
years. But if you operate at night and get on 20 meters, you can still work
a lot. I just finished working about 8 CW and 2 SSB QSOs in eastern Europe
while running 5 watts. This shows that the KT34XA is working well and band
conditions are good, but also that you should be able to work a lot with
compromised antennas and 100 watts, especially on CW. Who needs 5 KW when 5
W will do!
