as for size, think of a typical black berry, but thicker, and a little 
narrower and shorter.
Excellent hand held radio...not difficult to use or program as has been 
mentioned already.
Once you get one, most of us will be able to give you a better idea of how 
to use it, and what to watch out for as far as putting it into different 
modes and states that may seem confusing at first.
It has dual band receive capability, so that can get confusing if you don't 
know how to manipulate the functions and so on.
