Brett,
I've been very happy with the ICT12012-20A switcher from WR Block.
800-421-7170. It has powered a Kenwood 742 for over 2 years without
problems. It doesn't have a fan to make noise. Plus it doesn't hum. Per WR
Block website MSRP of $99. They offer factory rebuilt units for less. It's
about the size of the average VHF mobile rig.
