Even if its 10 meters, you still only have 1.7 MHZ.
Unless there is a way around that, 
That's less than half the 2 meter band, and less than a fifth of the 440
band.

Don't they usually convert to 28 mhz?   Lot's of bandwidth there.   I 
think the 590 allows for either connection  via  the UHF antenna jack, or
via one of the RCA jacks (the infamous "drive" feature).

Of course, I've never used one,  so  I'm qualified to pontificate on the
subject.
