Yes, it's only a kit, and one has to find a builder...but this isn't very difficult at all, as there's a list of a whole bunch of builders all over the world who will do it. Many will do it cheap or free for blind hams. If you can't find a builder, it's only because you haven't looked for one :)

The only speech output is through a self-voicing program running on a PC. This program doesn't read all info (such as menu options). To get the most complete feedback, get the KRC2-AC, an accessory that plugs into either the serial port on the 100-watt amp or the optional KIO2 serial interface for the QRP version.

The KPA100 100-watt amp is designed to replace the original QRP top cover, so the dimensions are roughly the same as for the QRP K2. You *can* remote the amp in a separate enclosure, but it takes a bit more in the way of interconnecting cables and so forth. You're correct that the K2 won't do 6 and 2 meters, unless of course you get the external (separate) transverters. :)
