I'll be honest, like I said, my 940, first try I'd get a station every time
comfortably, I can set the 570 how ever I want, it's limited so I can't
over drive it, but honestly, those contacts that used to be 1 try and I had
them, now I usually need 2 or 3 tries some times more, and I noticed that
before too, with my old TS-440 against my 570 and the 450 I used to have,
same thing the older radio would get the contact first try more often then
not and the newer one, some times it would but usually it was just no there.
Funny thing is, the signal reports when I make the contacts are the same but
there's just some characteristic that makes a noticeable difference and I
know some one who favors tube equipment, same reason he's had a lot of
radios and the older they are, the more fun he has and more real contacts he
makes fastest with the same power output.
