Oh, I only check my emails once a day so I'm 24 hours late.  The Companion
allows you to convert the amwr files to a readable format that you can use
elsewhere.  What you are thinking about for the extra $50 is the Softpack.

Frankly, for all the crappiness of the Victor Stream as far as recording,
I'd opt for a Bookport or Booksense.
