I have one of these.  The synth is the usual icom ut-102.  Works reasonably
well.  Only announces freq, signal strength, and time.

Also has one major drawback.  Volume of speech is not independently
adjustable as in the kenwood rigs.

Over all, however, a good receiver.

Buttons beep once for their first function, and twice for the hold
function.  Hope this helps.
