Steve

The antenna does have traps, some parallel tubing and cross strapping.
The radials are about 3 feet in length.

It is a stand alone antenna and needn't be on the roof, but as the ends
are 'hot' (high voltage) they really need to be above hand height as a
precaution. Kushcraft do provide warning tags for the ends!

I first used one for the GB90MGY station in April 2002 (the station
marking the 90th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic) and have now
used mine with the base about 5 feet above ground at my /p location near
the sea for about 2 months with good results - but not as good as my big
beam at my home location for the higher bands, but works better than my
quarter wave vertical at that location for 40M.
This last may be as a result of the highly conductive ground near the
sea.
