yes.
We have one box on the network that is in DMZ mode as well for the same
reasons.
Just an adequit software firewall and good judgement are enough usually.
I meant to say that you don't need to put the machine running echolink into
dmz mode on the gateway 2700 because i know it can be made to work with
echolink from behind the firewall.
The particular modem/router in question is not quite the same as most
tradditional routers...there is a bit more automation so you don't have to
assign IP's and so on.
It is actually a much more user friendly interface, but when a person is
used to working with dlink and linxies routers, complexity seems to be first
and foremost and regular logic doesn't kick in right away.
What? A firewall/router that is configured using everyday reason and logic?
you don't have to be a rocket scientist to configure it? what a concept HI
