Brett,

Everything I know about towers I absorbed from the towertalk reflector
over the years.  Someone mentioned 80 percent.  That is the  number used
by Rohn and  whoever took them over a few years ago.  For a 100 foot
tower, the 
anchor points should be 80 feet out.  50 foot tower, 40 feet out.   The 
closer the anchor points are brought to the tower, the steeper the
angle, and the more compressive  / downward force is put on the tower
and it's base.

I also understand that while some crank-up's are designed to be guyed,
most are not and it's not wise to guy one that is not designed that way.

Whatever you do, do it safe.
