hi
this is an easy one thank god smile
if you are using 6.1 or 6.0, go into the mouse menu and under voice, there 
should be some options to do with the voice being on with pointers delayed, 
dictionary pointers, or voice on with pointer identification off.  this last 
one i mentioned is what you probably want.  also, in 6.0, turning the mouse 
off gets rid of these but doesn't turn the mouse voice completely off from 
what I have found
