I didn't even think of the option of having menu versions A. and B. so that 
I could still get S meter readings from the TS480 given my current set-up, 
although, as you say, I'd have to be sure that both sets of menus were 
identical in all other ways.

It's interesting food for thought, though.

Tom,

There is a way to have it both ways, although it's not a perfect
solution.  You can create two versions of the menus and switch
between them with the A/b button.  You'll just have to make sure
that all other settings in both versions are identical.  Your
only other option is to play with menu 48.
