Scott,

What do you mean, just passed the extra?  It took me over three hours to 
pass it.  You should be higher than a kite about now.  The extra is not a 
necessity in the ham radio world but it is a great feeling to have it under 
your belt.  Congratulations and enjoy all those side band and CW subbands. 
It truly was worth it for me and I took it  20 years ago.
