OK, the only way I've found to put in tones is, making sure there's an
antenna hooked up, turn on the tone, it's in the function 4, I forget the
button right now I can look later, might be far right, set another radio to
the tone you're looking for on the tone squelch, pick a frequency, should be
clear, go in the quick set menu, find the setting for the outgoing tone, key
up and tune through them with the tuning dial until you open the tone
squelch on another radio, that's the only way I've found to do it so far but
it works and after a while, you can get used to it enough that you can guess
close and don't have to search long for it though I also used tone scan once
for that and that worked out alright and that's usually the menu option in
the quick set menu right after the tone squelch tone setting but again, mine
are different, the manual on www.icanworkthisthing.com can help a lot better
with that unless yours is like mine in which case it's the highest quick set
menu option so if you turn the selector down until you hear the beep, next
click will do it.
