HRO doesn't fix radios that I know of, they may put a voice chip in now and
then, more out of kindness than anything but they don't actually work on the
radios other than that. If they try another voice chip and it doesn't work,
it's going back to Kenwood. Hopefully there's something stupid wrong with
the chip, the chip's cheap enough it's not worth getting that fixed. I've
never had a radio with that chip so don't know much about it but have had
radios with all the other chips and have yet to see a problem. I have always
put my own chips in though and it would be hard for anything to happen to
most of the connectors without you knowing it, I also have the digital
recorder unit in the TS-2000 and had one in my TS-570 when I had that, I'm
pretty sure I sold it with that unit in it, it would be too much of a pain
to take it out and swap it to the TS-2000 but I never had a problem with any
of them.
