The traveler can be permanently installed on a ground rod, but I wonder 
how it would stand up to heavy rains and ice.  How well is the center 
control assembly waterproofed against the weather?
Most of the reviewers had them for less than 3 months.  I like to hear 
some reports from folks who left it outdoors over the winder.
