Hi, Charles.

I have one of those devils as well.  Unfortunately, the intermod rejection 
on the radio is awful.

Sometimes I lose remote microphone control and to get it back I turn the 
radio off and then on again.  Then, I press the DTMF/SCAN button three times 
(this is the third button down on the left side of the transceiver face). 
This should put you back into REMO mode.  If not, ask a sighted person to do 
it.
