You are right there.  The r5000 would have been another nice rig but
came along when kids were young and most financially taxing.

Actually, Kenwood has been out of the receiver business for a number of
years.  Their last offering was the Kenwood R5000 which was made about
the same time as the Kenwood TS440S, used the VS1 voice synthesizer and
had a comparable receiver to the TS440S.  In other words, good.
