We have one of these and haven't had any problems with it for the most part.
The only real problem that we have had with the temperature probe is the
batteries in it don't work when the temperature is below a certain point
making that part useless for about four or five months a year in the
Midwest. Since I believe that machine is no longer being produced, if you
used the supplied batteries, they may be bad.

Subject: OT. Weather indoor & outdoor atomic clock question

Anybody have one of these from blind mice? We, meaning my wife and I, = got
one for Christmas and it all works fine except the outdoor probe. = By that
I mean, I put the batteries in and the main clock unit isn't = getting a
signal, apparently, and it is good for 150 feet. I have it = less than 10
feet away out the window. Unfortunately, Blind Mice has a =
14 day return policy so you don't get much time to test it when it was =
saved a few days for a Christmas gift. I just thought before trying to =
return it, maybe somebody on this list has one and knows about the = probe.
I was a little concerned upon opening it at Christmas because = there were
no instructions but even a blind man can figure this one out = so I'm
wondering, the way it wasn't packaged, that is, not shrink = wrapped and no
instructions, if it had already been returned once = before. I bought a
staple gun at a big hardware store once and when I = got it home, I could
see the way the box was torn, it had at least been = opened and when I
started using it, it wouldn't work right half the time = so I returned it
and next time checked the packaging closer before = leaving the store.
