I haven't had hands on a 480, so it would be difficult for me to compare.
Maybe next time I get to a e s here in town, I'll do a little playing.
One problem is they never have voice in their display models which really
sucks.  The 2000 does have dual receive, well at least am and fm for vhf
and uhf.  Also has built in tnc transporter for sky command.  The menus
speak very well except for setting the pl tone.

What bands does the 480 cover, if this has been discussed before, sorry I
missed it.

Oh yes, 2000 also has an option for 1296.  Also has a satellite mode which
I haven't played with hyet, want to get into that one of these days.

Speaking of the 2000, anyone know anything about their new software?
