Better music selection, imo, and this year, at least, NASCAR. Also, college 
sports and I'm a fanatical ACC basketball fan, so I prefer XM. XM also has a 
bluegrass channel and I don't think that Sirius does. Go to:

and look at their channel lineup.

WHat can you get on XM that you can't get on Serious?  I am thinking of
subscribing to one or ther other.  My step dad likes Serious, but I've
heard good and bad things about  both XM a and Serious.
