that's how I do it too, you have mic control enabled, that's why that works,
most don't by default and you have to enable it in the menu for some strange
reason.

I too have a tm-g707. When I want to set a frequency using the keypad, I
first press the VFO key, which is on the top row of keys and the second key
from the left. I can then press the a key to the right of the 3, which acts
as the enter key. From there, I can enter the frequency I want. When I got
my radio, it was configured so the a key functioned as the enter key. I
hope this answers your question.

Eric

Hi Everyone;
I bought myself a nice new tmg707a for Christmas and thus far I love it.
True it only hears one band at a time but the ability to easily program a pl
tone is worth it to me.
As usual, however, there is one minor snag. The voice chip works and the
dimmer button now works as a speak button. I haven't figured how to program
an enter button in the microphone. This tuning manually got old by about
the second repeater.
Any info much appreciated.
I took a look at the cheat sheets on I can work this thing and although they
told me I had to
reprogram a enter key the details weren't there.
Rich
